This morning in Tauranga, we celebrated the announcement of seven wrestlers named to compete in the upcoming Commonwealth Games in April. Only a few members of the team were able to make the photo shoot which included interviews with local and national media.  Congratulations to the following:

Ana Moceyawa (57kg), Tayla Ford (62kg), Michelle Montague (68kg), Brahm Richards (65kg), Akash Khullar (74kg), Toby Fitzpatrick (86kg), Sam Belkin (96kg), Pete Pouri-Lane (National Coach) and Ross Tanner (Assistant Coach).

We are also delighted to confirm that Malcolm McBeth and Lyall Hamer have been selected as Referee Officials, and Marlene Pouri-Lane as Technical Official for Gold Coast Committee.

This is an exciting time for the above team who have been working hard over the past few years to reach this goal.  It is also a wonderful opportunity for Wrestling NZ to promote ourselves and show New Zealanders what a great sport we are all involved in.
