Congratulations to Tayla Ford who has made history by being the first wrestling wahine in Aotearoa to make the NZ Olympic Team. Tayla will compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris on 4/5 August and is our only wrestling athlete to make the NZ Olympic Team.
Our first NZ wrestling athlete to compete in the Olympic Games was in 1956 (John Silva) who has been followed by another 17 males since.
A very proud time Wrestling NZ, wahine in wrestling and Tayla. Much thanks and appreciation must be given to Tayla's coaches over the years and the wider wrestling community for the support that has been wrapped around her.
